Festa di San Francesco d'Assisi
- Procession
Piazza p. Cristoforo Boccardo, Santuario e Convento N.S. del Soccorso
Pietra Ligure celebrates the 8th centenary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Italy, with a solemn liturgy in the square of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Succour. The community and the Fraternity of the Friars Minor welcome the statue of the Saint and the Crucifixes carried in procession by the Confraternities of the Diocese of Albenga-Imperia, then gather for the afternoon Solemn Mass. In the morning, further Eucharistic celebrations are scheduled in the church at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00. A heartfelt event that unites Franciscan devotion with the confraternal tradition of the area, in the name of one of Italy's most beloved saints.
