August 2026 Food Festivals in Liguria: A Guide to Gastronomic Events

August in Liguria means festivals. Almost every town offers an event with gastronomic specialties, music, and gatherings. Here is a selection of the August 2026 appointments, from the coast to the hinterland.

Late July and Early August

On July 31, two events kick off. In Celle Ligure, Pecorile under the Stars (until August 2) offers food stalls with pecorino cheese as the highlight, musical entertainment, and activities for children. In Albenga, in the courtyard of the Parish Works of San Bernardino da Siena, the festival ‘A Vain pe mangià ben’ (July 31 - August 2) serves typical Ligurian dishes from 7:00 PM to midnight.

On Sunday, August 2, the 57th Farmer's Festival returns to Plodio, organized by the Pro Loco. The main event is the traditional tractor parade, with agricultural vehicles stopping in the localities of Chiesa and Piani. In past editions, the day concluded with a tractor driving skills competition, which is usually repeated this year as well.

On Monday, August 3, in the Croce Azzurra area of Brugnato, the Fish Festival (reservation required) prepares mussels, anchovies, cod, and fried fish with chef Lorenzo Gentile.

On Tuesday, August 4, in Conscenti (Ne), Val Graveglia at the Table takes place in the Sandro Pertini Green Area with typical products of the valley.

Second Week of August

From August 6 to 8, the village of Massimino hosts Ravioli in the Square 2026, the 31st edition of a festival recognized as an Authentic Ligurian Event. The stars are handmade ravioli, with food stalls, music, and dancing in the square.

Also on August 6, the 47th Nonna's Pudding Festival begins in Leca d'Albenga (until August 9). At the Parish Works in via delle Scuole 2, you can taste the famous pudding and other traditional dishes prepared by parish volunteers.

From August 10 to 14, Pietra Ligure becomes the capital of local wine with the Nostralino Festival, organized by the Circolo Giovane Ranzi. In past editions, the menu included Ranzi ravioli, chickpea zemin, trofie al pesto, cundijun, and the Nostralino produced by the club. The 2026 program confirms this food and wine focus, accompanied by live music.

Ferragosto and Surroundings

From August 13 to 15, the square of the Church of Divine Mercy in San Bartolomeo al Mare hosts the Patronal Ribotta, a parish festival with food stalls and festive evenings. In 2025, the event had a Tex-Mex theme; for 2026, no particular themes have been announced, but the stalls and music remain confirmed.

On August 16, for the Ferragosto celebrations, a Dinner in the Square is held in Torria (Chiusanico) with musical entertainment in Piazza Brigata Liguria, organized by the Musicartemia association.

Third and Fourth Weeks of August

From August 20 to 22, Celle Ligure celebrates bluefish with the 50th Bluefish Festival, organized by AVIS. Food stalls and music for the three evenings.

The weekend of August 21-23 features several events. In Santo Stefano di Magra, in the hamlet of Ponzano Superiore, the Sacherpada Festival takes place, featuring the classic savory vegetable pie from Lunigiana, with stalls and themed evenings. In Arenzano, in the Terralba area, the San Bartolomeo Festival (August 22-24, from 6:00 PM to midnight) offers specialties from the Arenzano hinterland: in past editions, small focaccias and stuffed eggplants were served. In Balestrino, the Pro Loco organizes the Historic Festival, three days of food, wine, and traditional events.

On August 22 and 23, Ceriana renews the Sausage Festival 2026, where the four Confraternities of the town compete to offer the best Ceriana sausage, prepared by local butchers and ranked among the best in Italy.
